The Dassault Falcon 10X, the largest and longest-range business jet ever developed by Dassault, is facing delays, with deliveries now anticipated to commence in 2027. Originally slated for entry into service in 2025, this delay is attributed to challenges such as vendor issues and the prolonged impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these setbacks, development is progressing smoothly, with final assembly of the first aircraft expected to begin in the second half of 2024.
Once operational, the Falcon 10X will directly compete with models like the Bombardier Global 7500 and Gulfstream G700. The aircraft is designed to accommodate up to 19 passengers and boasts a range of 7,500 nautical miles, enabling nonstop flights between city pairs such as New York to Shanghai or Los Angeles to Sydney. Its spacious cabin, measuring 2.77 meters in width and 2.03 meters in height, will be the largest among purpose-built business jets, offering unparalleled comfort for long-haul journeys.
Powering the Falcon 10X are Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X engines, each delivering over 18,000 pounds of thrust. These engines are designed for high efficiency and will be certified to operate on 100% sustainable aviation fuel, aligning with industry trends toward environmental sustainability.
As Dassault advances with the Falcon 10X program, the company is also expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific market, recognizing the region's significant growth potential in business aviation. The introduction of the Falcon 10X is expected to strengthen Dassault's position in the ultra-long-range business jet segment, offering a combination of range, comfort, and advanced technology to meet the evolving needs of global travelers.
